The Nevada City Chinese Lunar New Year Festival, a cultural enrichment program of Community Asian Theatre of the Sierra (CATS), welcomes the Year of the Sheep, on Sunday, March 8, 2014, in Nevada City. Chinese New Year Festivals are rare in rural communities, and we are proud to present this annual celebration, our fourth year.

Join WorldBeat Ensemble in the community parade, which begins at 12:00 noon at the Chinese Monument on Commercial Street (the old Chinese Quarter). The ceremonial Lion Dancers from Eastern Ways Martial Arts of Sacramento will lead the parade, and parade participants will begin lining up at 11am. Visit the CATS website for more information.

The mini parade entourage will make its way down Commercial Street and end at the Robinson Plaza where the Lion Dancers will spearhead an afternoon of Asian culture and entertainment. Food would be available for sale on Union Street. Exhibitors will line Union Street.
